Our Daily Bread is a Christ-centered artisan bakery in Dover, NH. We bake for weekly pickup, serve breakfast and lunch at our Locust Street kitchen, and take our craft seriously—excellence in the loaf, integrity in how we treat neighbors, customers, and partners.

Panis Vivus

Panis Vivus—Latin for “living bread”—is the name we give our sourdough line. The phrase echoes one of the Catholic Church’s central teachings: Christ as the Bread of Life, given for the life of the world. Latin has been the Church’s shared language for centuries; we lean into that heritage not to perform piety, but because words like these remind us that bread can carry meaning deeper than flour and water.

We are not here to preach at the counter. We are here to make bread worth returning for. If you want to talk about faith, we will gladly share; if you prefer quiet, small talk, or simply your loaf in a bag, we are glad for that too. Everyone is welcome—every background, every story, and every palate.
